Woodworking Auction for Bandsaws
including Jet, Delta, Laguna, Powermatic

This woodworking auction is for great bandsaws, which are nice to have in your workshop. You can make your own custom thickness lumber (see How to Resaw with Your Bandsaw), as well as cut out curves and templates.

A bandsaw is a lot safer than a table saw, especially on narrow cuts. You can cut veneers or thin edging with a bandsaw. A good Bandsaw can cut curves and circles. Quality bandsaw blades are less expensive than quality table saw blades.

In woodworking machinery and tools, I would consider a bandsaw important. It has a narrow kerf and vertical blade movement. This makes it extremely efficient. It wastes minimal wood. Cutting is easy and quick. You can use a fence or develop your jigs. Your work is flat unlike a jigsaw. Not much can go wrong, as long as you use another piece of wood to push the workpiece through the blade.

As part of the Jet woodworking machinery, I like my Jet 14" Bandsaw. The dust collection is inadequate. The newer models of the Jet and Delta have slightly better dust collection ports. The Laguna has the best dust collection system. The Powermatic has some technology issues with set-up, so be careful on your selection.

I suggest you consider a 14" bandsaw or larger. In these woodworking machinery auctions, look for the newer quick-release blade tension lever.
