Router Offset Subbase

Router Offset Subbase

Pat Warner's handcrafted offset subbase is a must for the router woodworker.

When routing along the edge. there is less than half the router on the work. There is less than 25% when you reach the end and make the turn. It is nearly impossible to keep the router from tipping when routing on edge or pattern work.

You should not be surprised if your edge cuttings are uneven or burnt. When the router tips, you will ruin the profile, might splinter the work or kick back the router.

This offset subbase eliminates those problems. It adds safety to routing. Essentially, you add a power steering unit to your router.

You grip the knob on the offset triangular section, which keeps the router flat on the work, especially as you round the corner. It is transparent, allowing you see the cutter, the edge of the work, watch the cut in progress, and anticipate the start/stop as you approach scribe lines. You can also use the knob to wind the cord set up for easy storage.

All of Pat Warner's offset subbases are fully machined, made of tough 12 mm see-through acrylic and they won't bend. Should you accidentally drop your router, in all likelihood, it will land on the offset subbase.

I purchase this Offset Subbase from Pat Warner, who drilled it for a Bosch 1617EVS Router. I sold the Bosch Router, along with my old router table to a fellow woodworker. Recently, I found it sitting in my shop. It has some light scratches from a use. That does not affect the utility of this nice offset subbase.

I paid $30 direct from Pat Warner.
You can have this great offset subbase for only $10.
Shipping depends on zip code.
